Make it a day; eat at Smoque twice

Smoque is really something special, which is good, because if you don't live on the northwest side of the city, it is going to take something special for you to hike or bike all the way over there. But should you find yourself just about 10 miles south of Wisconsin (is that actually above IL?), you need to eat at this place.

Super low-key dining room, ordering at the front and reasonable pricing all add up to make this dining experience a treat. Oh yeah, and the food. Really quite the best barbeque I have had since the The Hickory Pit went out of business.
On my plate, from counter clockwise, is a quarter cut of St. Louis ribs, cole slaw, delicious seasoned french fries, a sliced brisket half-sandwich and a half a pulled pork sandwich. Also, two kinds of barbecue sauce.
All of it was wonderful, but the brisket sandy really was the best by a lot.
Great smoke taste, juicy, tasty, rich, salty and delicious. Everything I wanted from these guys. Do yourself a favor and charter a flight up there soon.
