quirken's top 20 songs for 2009: Songs 10 - 1

So here we go with my top ten songs from 2009. A reminder: if you would like a CD copy or a digital download of these tracks, please DM me @quirken or send me a note and I will give you the super secret password to my FTP lair, where I have zipped these neatly for your downloading pleasure.

Literally each one of these tracks was on a constant loop throughout the year, and many of them appealed both to me and my daughters. This means they are good business.

I have included BoobTube links for each track so you can familiarize yourself with them, though some are live videos with less than stellar audio. Others are ridiculous Ken Burns photo collages over the studio track, and yet others are great, unique and interesting videos.

Some of them don't need too much intro, but I will say that when I first heard my favorite song of the year in November on Conan I almost fell out of my seat. The song was from a band I liked, but rather than playing some older radio hit, they freaking debuted a ridiculous track live on network television. That's some Ed Sullivan level nonsense right there. First time I heard it, this album became my most anticipated of the year.
